Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola broke down in tears as another 2 Key Man City player goes off injured during training ahead of FA Cup Clash with Newscastle, a very sad moment for City fans as the injury seems to be a career ending injury
Mauricio Pochettino says that some of his young Chelsea players are “struggling to deal with the pressure” of playing for the team.
This past summer, the Argentine took charge at Stamford Bridge while people spent a lot of money.
Since Todd Boehly took over, the Blues have signed 28 players. Of the new players they brought in last summer, only Alex Disasi and Christopher Nkunku are over 23.
Cole Palmer, 21, has been the best player for the club this season. He has scored the most goals and has made his way into the England team since moving there from Manchester City.
However, Pochettino says that Palmer does not yet know how to handle the demands of playing for a club like Chelsea. He believes that Palmer does, but not the rest of the team.
“As you ask me about Cole Palmer, I can tell you that not all of the players have the same way of getting used to the club or performing,” Pochettino said.
“We are at a point where the main group, the main young players, are having a little trouble dealing with the pressure to play for Chelsea.”
“That is something we know, and our main goal is to help them in every way.”
“It’s not just to help them during the two hours of training.” We’ve talked with them and the people who work with them for a long time.
“If we can help them in all the different parts of their life, I think the easiest thing will be to help them do well on the pitch.”
On Sunday, Chelsea will play Leicester City in the FA Cup quarterfinals. The last time these two teams played, Youri Tielemans scored an amazing late winner.
Only Reece James, Ben Chilwell, and Thiago Silva are still at Chelsea from that 2021 team. This shows how much has changed since then.
