Bryan Mbeumo has reportedly erupted following his costly penalty miss against Roma

Manchester United’s dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over AS Roma has been overshadowed by growing speculation surrounding Bryan Mbeumo and an alleged dressing-room disagreement following the encounter.

The Cameroonian forward endured a frustrating evening at Old Trafford after coming incredibly close to scoring in the second half. His powerful effort beat Roma goalkeeper Devis Vásquez but struck one post before bouncing across the goal and hitting the opposite post. It was an unfortunate moment that denied United an opportunity to equalise earlier.

Following the match, a statement circulated online claiming Mbeumo had a heated exchange with an unnamed senior figure and threatened to leave the club after being criticised for his missed opportunity. However, there is no credible confirmation of the alleged confrontation or claims that he has instructed his agent to find him another club.

Mbeumo has previously demonstrated his importance to United through his pace, creativity and attacking contributions. One disappointing moment does not erase his overall value to the team.

Meanwhile, Matheus Cunha emerged as United’s hero, scoring twice late in the second half after Bruno Fernandes converted a retaken penalty to inspire the comeback.

The victory ended United’s nine-game winless run and offered Michael Carrick some much-needed relief.

For now, the transfer rumours remain unverified. United’s priority will be maintaining dressing-room unity, while Mbeumo will be hoping to put his disappointment behind him and respond positively in upcoming fixtures.
