Good news: Frank Lampard is ready to return to management at a major club.

According to rumours, Frank Lampard is on Lyon’s shortlist as they look for a new manager to replace Laurent Blanc.

The French giants are in a bad way, lying at the bottom of Ligue 1 with only one point from their first four games.

Blanc left his position by mutual accord earlier this week, albeit a hunt for his replacement had already begun.

Graham Potter was reportedly approached about a move to Lyon last week, but the Englishman declined.

According to 90min.com, another former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, is being considered by the club’s administration for the Lyon job.

Lampard had a dreadful season in charge of Everton before being sacked in January of this year.

He then returned to Chelsea as temporary manager between Potter’s tenure and the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino in the summer.

That spell in charge at Stamford Bridge did not go well, with only one win in 11 games and eight defeats.

Former AC Milan, Napoli, and Valencia manager Gennaro Gattuso, who has been out of work since January, is also in the running.

However, any candidate may be turned off by the boardroom conflict between current president John Textor and former president Jean-Michel Aulas, which is not helping the company’s precarious financial state.
