Dimitar Berbatov has reportedly delivered an emotional verdict on Manchester United’s current situation

Dimitar Berbatov has joined the growing criticism of Manchester United after Michael Carrick’s side continued to struggle near the bottom of the Premier League table.
The former United striker was reportedly stunned when he saw his old club sitting 18th following Nottingham Forest’s 3–1 victory over Manchester City. Speaking as a beIN Sports pundit, Berbatov covered his face in disbelief before admitting that United’s performances had made their position understandable.
The situation became even more frustrating after United’s chaotic 4–4 draw against Aston Villa at Old Trafford. Villa raced into an early lead through Alysson and Nico Jackson, but United fought back through goals from Bruno Fernandes, Youri Tielemans, Joshua Zirkzee and Patrick Dorgu.
Despite rescuing a point, the result exposed familiar defensive weaknesses, with United conceding four goals on home soil.
Berbatov’s reaction reflects the disappointment surrounding a club that once regularly competed for major honours under Sir Alex Ferguson. Supporters are increasingly questioning the squad’s quality, recruitment and overall direction.
A major rebuild may be necessary, but simply replacing players will not guarantee improvement. United need a clear tactical identity, better recruitment and consistent performances.
For Carrick, the immediate priority is lifting the team out of the relegation zone before the situation becomes even more difficult.
