Manchester United are intensifying their chase for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško, with the Slovenian striker now firmly established as a top target for the number nine position. The club has monitored him for years, dating back to his emergence at Red Bull Salzburg, and internal scouting reports have long praised his strength, technical skill, and instinct in front of goal—qualities seen as ideal for Premier League football.
Šeško is believed to be keen on a switch to Old Trafford, with the Premier League regarded as his dream destination. His representatives are fully aware of United’s growing interest, and the player is reportedly open to making the jump. Antony’s departure would be more complicated given his reduced market value, while even a discussion about selling Alejandro Garnacho—though unlikely—has taken place internally.
The inclusion of Šeško on United’s shortlist underlines their determination to secure a long-term option up front. While Rasmus Højlund continues to develop, Šeško could either partner him in a youthful, high-energy duo or take the leading role in the attack. New manager Rúben Amorim is reportedly open to using both players together in a dynamic forward line built on pressing, power, and aerial presence.
Šeško, standing at 6’5″, combines physicality with agility and smart movement. At just 21 years old, he has already shown his potential in the Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals in 31 games during the 2023–24 campaign—an average of one goal every 113 minutes. His mentality and desire to play in England further strengthen United’s interest.
