“We will spend our money on this player and not on Ivan Toney again”- Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has urged Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s sporting director to forget about Toney and instead sign this ‘terrific’ player who Pep Guardiola fears

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, would rather sign Pedro Neto, a winger for Wolverhampton Wanderers, than Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford.

As Mikel Arteta strives to win the Premier League championship this season, Arsenal may only be able to make one significant acquisition in January. According to a report from Football Transfers, Arsenal is reportedly getting more serious about signing Pedro Neto.

After a key 1-0 victory over title contender Manchester City, the Gunners entered the international break. When Premier League play resumes, Arteta will be hoping to make a big impact, but he may already have one eye on the January transfer window.

Michael Arteta desires Arteta may only be able to make one high-profile signing due to the limited budget for January, according to Pedro Neto of Arsenal Football Transfers. To increase the budget, some players might leave the team, but Arteta may now have to choose between Pedro Neto and Ivan Toney. Arsenal is interested in both players, but Arteta apparently prefers to sign Neto if he had to choose. The Portuguese star is supposed to support Bukayo Saka down Arsenal’s right flank by taking some of the load off of him. Saka is obviously playing far too many games right now, and Arteta may have finally realized that he needs another elite winger as a result of his recent injury issues.

Because of his versatility, Arteta might choose Neto over Toney as Arsenal’s primary January target. Neto can play on either wing. In January, would Wolves really sell Neto? In the first few weeks of the Premier League season, Neto has already racked up one goal and five assists. After two years of being plagued by ailments, the 23-year-old seems to be getting back to his best.

This season, Neto has been particularly dangerous and commentator Leon Osman has praised him as “terrific” for giving opponents a ton of trouble. Without a doubt, Arsenal would want to acquire Neto, but persuading Wolves to sell in the middle of the season seems like a difficult task. Wolves will unquestionably need Neto to ensure their position in the Premier League, and even if Arsenal offers them a lot of money in January, there is no certainty that a transfer would be completed.
