Manchester United completes double transfer signings as the Reds signed South American aggressive striker after collapsing the deal for Bryan Mbeumo.

Manchester United are preparing to finalise the signings of three promising youngsters next week as part of their push to strengthen their academy during the current transfer window.

While the senior team has already seen the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a £62.5 million move, and discussions continue over a potential bid for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, the club is also actively building for the future by investing in young talent. United manager Ruben Amorim is believed to be eyeing a new striker too, with several names being considered at this early stage of the summer.

However, much of the behind-the-scenes activity has been focused on youth recruitment. According to Manchester World, 18-year-old defender Diego Leon is set to officially join the club from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño. The deal had already been agreed back in January, but it could not be completed until Leon turned 18 in April. He visited Manchester earlier this year to undergo medical checks and will sign a five-year contract. United will pay an initial fee of around £3.2 million, which could rise to £7 million with performance-related add-ons.

The second signing on United’s list is Enzo Kana-Biyik, a teenage forward from French club Le Havre. The young attacker will join the Red Devils once his current deal with Le Havre runs out at the end of this month. United secured an agreement for his transfer last month and are expected to officially announce the signing alongside that of Diego Leon.

United’s third youth signing is Harley Emsden-James, a 16-year-old centre-back from Southampton. The highly rated youngster will make the switch to Manchester once his current contract ends next week. United will pay approximately £1 million as compensation to Southampton, along with a 20% sell-on clause should the player be sold in the future. Emsden-James, who has represented England at the U15 level, is seen as a top talent and is expected to feature for United’s U18 team next season. One of the main reasons he chose United over other options was the clear development path from the academy to the senior team, which has recently benefited players like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

All three signings reflect United’s intent to create a strong pipeline of young talent that could one day make the leap into the first team, reducing the need for expensive senior acquisitions down the line.
