“LET Him Pack his things and Leave I don’t want to see him in my Club Again, He couldn’t defend the ball and didn’t score an open Net and caused the Secon Goal”- Pep Guardiola has instructed Manchester City FLOP to leave the Club with immediate effect after Shocking defeat to Celtic

Pep Guardiola remarks on Kalvin Phillips’ future following Celtic’s loss.
Following Manchester City’s pre-season defeat to Celtic, manager Pep Guardiola remarked on Kalvin Phillips’ future.

City’s preseason tour of the United States began with a 4-3 loss against the Scottish giants.

City was 3-1 behind at halftime after Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn (brace) and Kyogo Furuhashi scored, while City’s Oscar Bobb added one.

Maximo Perrone and Erling Haaland brought City back level, but substitute Luis Palma scored the winner.

Results, of course, are less crucial in preseason. Guardiola will, however, be dissatisfied.

Kalvin Phillips appeared in the game in the early hours of this morning, and Guardiolla discussed his future thereafter.

Last season, he moved out on loan to West Ham United, where the club hoped he would recover his form.

This did not happen, and Phillips’ troubles persisted. He looked to lack confidence in an Irons shirt, much as he did with City.

Phillips has been linked with a loan transfer to Everton in recent days, and Fulham is also interested.

But, for the time being, he is at City, and he did play against Celtic last night, and after the game, Pep discussed the possibility of Phillips continuing at the club in 2024/25.

He stated, “He’s training incredibly well and had a pretty excellent first half.” He was coming off an injury, so we didn’t give him extra minutes. But we’ll see; like in other cases, I’m not sure what will happen. He understands the circumstances, and we’ll see.”

Phillips struggled against Celtic, with the Manchester Evening News stating that “he may in reality have been making his predicament worse.” He was also ‘yards off the play’ on occasion.

Based on his performance last night, it is doubtful that Phillips will remain at City in 2024/25.

In recent days, Pep was glad to affirm that Kevin De Bruyne will continue at the club, but with Phillips, he failed to provide a clear response, which would indicate to his departure.

However, it all hinges on if City can reach an agreement on their own terms.

We’ll see what happens, but it appears Phillips is unlikely to stick around.
