Erling Haaland, a Manchester City striker, is ready for the forthcoming derby against Manchester United this weekend.

Unsurprisingly, the attacker is eager for the big game this weekend following his goalscoring performance in the FA Cup on Tuesday night. Remarkably, Haaland scored five goals as City defeated Luton Town 6-2, securing a quarter-final date with Newcastle United in a few weeks.

Before that, the Norwegian will face United, a team that holds a particular place in his heart. In his first Manchester Derby, Haaland scored a hat-trick as the Blues won 6-3 in a game that was far more easy for City than the scoreboard suggests.

After losing the return meeting at Old Trafford last season, Haaland scored again in his final game against the Reds. He scored twice, and City won comfortably 3-0.

And now, Haaland has taken to Instagram, where he delivered a message on Friday as the Blues completed their final preparations for one of the season’s biggest matches. The Norwegian captioned the photo: “Manchester Derby is coming up!”

In October, United fans chanted ‘Keano’ in allusion to Roy Keane, who had a long rivalry with Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland. After the game, the 23-year-old was thrilled to have the last laugh.

“Amazing. A tremendous triumph, and the game was incredible, as was the entire team, especially this guy (Bernardo Silva),” he told Sky Sports.

“(For the third goal), I noticed Phil was alone, so it was as simple as that. People were singing to me ‘Keano’ (after the penalty), I’m not sure why, but it is what it is. It was a fantastic celebration and a good game.”
