Chelsea Superstar broke down in tears after announcement that he will be having a career ending Surgey that will take him out for Three years
Christopher Nkunku might finally play for Chelsea when they play Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Last summer, Nkunku moved from RB Leipzig to Chelsea for about £52 million. However, he had surgery on his knee right away and hasn’t played for his new team yet. The 26-year-old Frenchman has been in full training this week, though, and his boss, Mauricio Pochettino, confirmed that the forward will be in the team to play the Blades this weekend.
“Very good news,” Pochettino said about Nkunku’s health. “He will be on the team and get to know his teammates and the competition.” We shouldn’t put too much stress on him, though. Stay cool and quiet.
Right back Malo Gusto is also back to full training, but captain Reece James and goalie Robert Sanchez will be out for a long time because they both hurt themselves last weekend.
James had to be taken off in the first half of the loss to Everton. Later in the game, Sanchez and defender Marc Cucurella also had to be taken off.
This week, scans showed that James had hurt his hamstring again. He had already missed a lot of the season because of the same injury. The right back is prone to getting hurt, so he has only played six games and will likely be out for a long time again.
“We need to look into it more deeply,” Mauricio Pochettino said on Friday. “He’s a little sad because he was looking forward to coming back.” We took it easy on him, which helped him feel better about himself and fully heal. It is hard for him to accept. It makes him very angry.
A specialist is taking care of Sanchez’s knee injury, which means that Djordje Petrovic, whom Pochettino thinks has “huge potential,” will likely fill in for Sanchez when Chelsea hosts Sheffield United on Saturday. Now is the time for him to step up.”
A statement from Chelsea said, “Following initial assessments, Cucurella is now due to meet with foot and ankle specialists. In the coming days, the next steps will be decided.” In the meantime, Sanchez, the custodian, has had his knee checked out by the club’s medical staff and experts.
“The news comes after the club made an announcement earlier this week about captain Reece James. Results showed that the 24-year-old had a serious hamstring injury.”
There are still players like Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Noni Madueke who can’t play. However, Romeo Lavia, a defender, is back to doing some training.
