Benjamin sesko reveals the Two areas that He’s better than Gyokeres

Benjamin Šeško, Manchester United’s new summer signing, has made a bold claim ahead of this weekend’s Premier League opener against Arsenal, revealing two key attributes where he believes he has the edge over Viktor Gyökeres. Interestingly, both strikers had been linked with each other’s clubs earlier in the transfer window—Šeško was on Arsenal’s radar before they opted for Sporting Lisbon’s Gyökeres, while United were also keen on the Swede due to his strong relationship with Ruben Amorim in Portugal. Ultimately, Gyökeres joined Arsenal, leaving Šeško to choose United over Newcastle, becoming Amorim’s fourth signing of the summer.

In his first interview as a United player, Šeško didn’t shy away from naming his strongest qualities—speed, power, kicking, and, notably, heading. He explained that he thrives on attacking spaces, being in position for crosses, and using his aerial strength to make an impact in front of goal. This is an area where United have struggled in recent years, and the club will be hoping his presence can turn dangerous deliveries into goals. Early training sessions have already shown glimpses of his ability in the air.

While Gyökeres managed a headed goal on his debut for Sporting, his record in Portugal suggests this isn’t his strongest suit—he scored only four headed goals in 102 Liga Portuguesa appearances. It’s a surprising statistic for a forward of his calibre, especially with players like Bukayo Saka, whose crossing ability is among the best in the Premier League, now supplying him at Arsenal.

The stage is set for the two strikers to go head-to-head on Sunday, and with Šeško confident in his advantage in aerial battles, fans will be watching closely to see if either man can make a decisive impact with their head.
