Former Chelsea Manager Frank Lampard has been appointed as the manager of this Shocking European Top Club
The Glasgow Rangers, who parted ways with Michael Beale and are looking for a new head coach, are where Frank Lampard wants to relaunch his managing career.
The 43-year-old was fired from his position as Rangers manager late on Sunday night as a result of the team’s poor start to the year.
Before the Englishman was fired, they were third in the league, behind St. Mirren, and seven points behind city rivals Celtic after suffering three losses in their previous seven Premiership games.
The strain on Beale was increased by a 7-3 defeat on aggregate by PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League play-off round in August. Beale’s summer rebuild has drawn criticism for a number of new recruits that haven’t had the expected effect.
Lampard, however, was fired by Everton earlier this year before returning to Chelsea for the remaining 11 games of what turned out to be a terrible season for the Premier League heavyweights on an interim basis.
Lampard is reportedly interested in the Rangers position but would first need reassurance regarding the Scottish club’s future intentions after encountering poisonous environments at Goodison Park and Stamford Bridge.
In an appearance on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports earlier this week, Lampard disclosed that he is examining his options and feels rejuvenated after his absence from the game.
‘I believe it’s vital that you try and find the time out of the game to refresh a little bit and appreciate things you don’t get the chance to do when you’re working,’ Lampard added.
