Manchester United endured another frustrating evening as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Leeds United, with several players delivering underwhelming performances across the pitch.
In goal, Senne Lammens earned a modest rating after making an early stop to deny Dominic Calvert-Lewin what seemed a certain opener. However, he was beaten for both goals and nearly gifted Leeds a third after a poor pass put Leny Yoro under pressure.
Noussair Mazraoui struggled badly throughout, looking uneasy on the ball, failing to track his opponent effectively, and contributing very little going forward. It was an equally torrid outing for Yoro, who endured a nightmare display—overpowered physically, careless in possession, and repeatedly caught out of position, especially during set pieces.
Lisandro Martínez produced a crucial last-ditch tackle at one point but undid his good work with a reckless challenge on Calvert-Lewin that resulted in a red card, leaving United to battle with ten men while already trailing. Luke Shaw offered little beyond a few ambitious long passes, failing to make a meaningful impact.
In midfield, Casemiro stood out as one of the few positives, powering home a header to reduce the deficit and briefly spark hope. In contrast, Manuel Ugarte delivered a dismal performance—losing possession early, failing to prevent the cross that led to Leeds’ opener, and showing none of the defensive steel expected of him.
Captain Bruno Fernandes had a mixed outing but still managed to register an assist for Casemiro’s goal, marking his 17th of the season. Amad Diallo started brightly and looked like United’s main attacking outlet early on but faded badly as the game wore on. Similarly, Matheus Cunha showed glimpses of intent and tested Karl Darlow on a few occasions, though he ultimately couldn’t influence the result, despite putting in a solid defensive shift after the red card.
Up front, Benjamin Šeško nearly found an equaliser but was denied by an excellent save from Darlow. Aside from that moment, he had limited opportunities to make a real impact.
From the bench, Diogo Dalot delivered a steady but unspectacular contribution, while Bryan Mbeumo injected some energy and attacking intent. Despite his efforts to take on defenders and shift momentum, he couldn’t produce the decisive moment United desperately needed.
