Coming from FABRIZIO ROMANO this Evening Manchester City Skipper Erling Haaland has left Ethihad Stadium this Evening to Join Shocking European football Club
Giovanni Galli believes Pep Guardiola should sell Erling Haaland to get 24-year-old attacker Dusan Vlahovic.
Before joining Manchester City and Juventus, Haaland and Vlahovic were largely regarded as the world’s top young forwards.
While the Norwegian striker was tearing up the Bundesliga at Borussia Dortmund, the Serbian international was doing the same in Serie A with Fiorentina.
Giovanni Galli thinks that if he were Pep Guardiola, he would sell Erling Haaland to sign Dusan Vlahovic.
However, since Erling Haaland joined Manchester City and Dusan Vlahovic joined Juventus, their futures could not be more different.
While the former has won three Premier League titles and broken the all-time goalscoring record in a single season, Vlahovic has unable to duplicate his brilliance from his time at Fiorentina.
Even so, Giovanni Galli feels that if he were Pep Guardiola, he would let Erling Haaland leave Manchester City to sign Dusan Vlahovic.
MORE MAN CITY STORIES
“Maybe it appears to be a provocation to you, but it is not for me: if they told me, ‘You would make the exchange between [Dusan] Vlahovic and [Erling] Haaland,’ I would do it easily. Dusan has no reason to envy the Norwegian, he told Tuttosport.
According to Giovanni Galli, Erling Haaland has the advantage of playing for Pep Guardiola and his team, who provide him with far more possibilities to score goals than Dusan Vlahovic does at Juventus.
“At Juve [Juventus], he must capitalise on the few opportunities that come his way since the Bianconeri are not a club that grinds out play like City, which has ten chances each game. Despite this, Vlahovic has already scored 12 goals. I’d like to see him in a more offensive lineup. If he were at Manchester City, he would score 50 goals every season, just like Haaland. “I am sure.”
Erling Haaland is on a different world from the Juventus striker.
As good as Dusan Vlahovic’s season has been, Erling Haaland is perhaps the best striker in the world, therefore Giovanni Galli’s offer to Pep Guardiola seems strange to us.
The 24-year-old (12 Serie A goals) has never approached Haaland’s (14 Premier League goals) level from last season, but despite not starting in his last six games and playing in a far higher division, he has outscored him by two goals in the league this season.
While one could argue that Dusan Vlahovic is more technically well-rounded than the Leeds-born frontman, his movement, positioning, finishing, and agility all significant improvement to match the latter’s.
Giovanni Galli’s reasoning is difficult to fathom, whether it is due to recency bias or a personal fondness for Juventus’ number nine player.
