Chelsea FC Star Mykhailo Mudryk has just confirmed this Evening that his £60 million Ukrainian teammate will be joining Chelsea this Transfer
According to sources, Chelsea are considering a deal for Ukraine international striker Artem Dovbyk, who is currently on loan at Girona in La Liga.
The Blues are looking to bolster their offensive options in the January transfer window, and Dovbyk is high on their list, according to The Sun.
Dovbyk’s outstanding performances have helped Girona startle their La Liga rivals this season, propelling the club to second place, ahead of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
The 26-year-old, who would reportedly cost £39 million, has 11 goals and five assists in 17 games this season in Spain’s top division.
Dovbyk joined Girona from Dnipro-1 this summer and is under contract until 2028.
He has 23 caps for the Ukraine national team, scoring seven goals.
Mauricio Pochettino has dispatched scouts to watch Dovbyk in recent weeks, and with the Argentine concerned about the lack of height in his current squad, Dovbyk’s 6ft 2in physical profile could help solve that problem.
Dovbyk shares an agent with Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk, and the two are said to be very close friends who talk every day.
Pochettino is said to want Dovbyk to battle with Nicolas Jackson for the No.9 position.
Meanwhile, the potential acquisition of Dovbyk would almost certainly result in the departure of Chelsea star Armando Broja, who is searching for more regular playing time.
