Former Manchester United Goalkeeper David de Gea has made a sensational comeback to football by joining one of the biggest clubs in the world

Former Manchester United Goalkeeper David de Gea has made a sensational comeback to football by joining one of the biggest clubs in the world.

When David de Gea’s 12-year career at Manchester United ended suddenly this summer, not many people thought the Spaniard would still be without a club more than a month after the transfer window closed.

After the 32-year-old’s contract expired, Manchester United made the choice to let him leave. However, no one thought that De Gea would stay a free agent for long.

The former Manchester United number one goalie may not have been the best fit for Erik ten Hag, but he’s still a great shot-stopper and can play at a high level every week.

But no offers have come in, at least not ones that interested De Gea. The 45-time international player is now even thinking about ending his playing career.

De Gea’s time at the club seemed to be coming to an end as soon as Erik ten Hag walked through the door at Carrington. The Dutchman believes that you should pass out from the back and play through the thirds. The goalie is the first one to blame.

Since the beginning of his career, De Gea has been the best goalie with his hands. However, he has never been as good with the ball in his feet as the best backs in the Premier League. In England, players like Alisson Becker and Ederson have set the standard for how to distribute the ball, and De Gea has simply fallen behind in the modern game.

Ten Hag saw the Spaniard as a weakness because he couldn’t follow Ten Hag’s mindset, and some well-known mistakes didn’t help his case either. It’s not a surprise that Man Utd decided to fire their long-time number one after hearing this. He was said to be making £375,000 a week.

Andre Onana was brought in to replace De Gea. The Cameroon international has had a rough start to his career, but he should help the Red Devils build better from the back going forward.

De Gea, on the other hand, has seen his value drop. The only offers he and his agent could get were rumors of interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the summer, but they would only be short-term deals to replace hurt goalkeepers.

90 minutes has learned that De Gea has turned down the offer to join many of the experienced stars who left Europe for Saudi Arabia last summer.

The goalie has made it clear that he wants to stay in Europe, and he is still sure that he can play regularly for a Champions League team soon.

De Gea is allegedly standing firm against Cristiano Ronaldo’s attempts to get his former teammate to join him at Al Nassr. Ronaldo is a Portuguese international player.

A lot of Premier League players, like Jordan Henderson, Riyad Mahrez, and Allan Saint-Maximin, moved to Saudi Arabia this summer. But De Gea says he doesn’t want to make the move.

One reason De Gea hasn’t found a new club yet is that he wants too much. The goalie wants to be first-choice, ideally in the Champions League, and he will likely be his new club’s first choice for a long time. Because of this, he probably won’t find too many partners who meet all of his needs.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid may not have gone after the goalkeeper because they knew they couldn’t give him what he wanted once Manuel Neuer and Thibaut Courtois got back from major injuries.

There is also the issue of how much money the club would need to sign De Gea. Suppose the Spanish player agreed to a 50% pay cut. The club would still have to be able to pay £187,500 a week for a goalie who will be 33 years old in November.

You could also say that De Gea’s image has been a little less good over the last few years. The goalie won Man Utd’s Player of the Year award four times during his time at the club. However, his recent drop in performance and inability to follow a more modern tactical game plan don’t make him the most sought-after goalkeeper on the market.

Are David de Gea’s days over?
De Gea definitely wants to keep playing, especially since he’s still pretty young for a goalie. But if the right offer doesn’t come along, he will think about retiring. The 90-minute player knows that he wants to wait until January to make a choice, but he might think about his future if the transfer window ends without him finding a new club.

There are many things that might alter before the end of the year. It’s still possible that a big club from Europe will come in and buy De Gea, or that he will agree to play somewhere else as a backup plan.

But it would be a shame if De Gea retired so young because he didn’t have any other choices, especially after what he did for Manchester United and their fans.
