Erik Ten Hag has reportedly committed his future to Manchester United for the long term.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Dutch manager has signed a new contract extending his stay until 2026.
Ten Hag, 54, took over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer two years ago and has experienced a rollercoaster journey at Old Trafford.
Despite securing two significant trophies, including last season’s FA Cup, doubts have persisted about his ability to elevate the Red Devils’ performance in the Premier League.
However, with the recent overhaul in senior management led by new minority stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, along with sporting director Dan Ashworth and CEO Omar Berrada, the club is convinced that Ten Hag is the right person for the job.
This new deal, running until 2026, will dispel any uncertainties regarding the club’s confidence in Ten Hag and is expected to unify the squad as they aim to recover from a disappointing eighth-place finish last season.
Ten Hag, who has managed the team in 114 matches, boasts an average of 1.92 points per game.
