DEAL SIGNED: £90million creative midfielder has agreed to join Man United as the superstar officially announced his move to Man united

Manchester United have reportedly moved quickly to secure one of their priority transfer targets before the summer market officially opens.

At the same time, Michael Carrick seems to have discovered the best short-term way to use striker Benjamin Sesko at Old Trafford.

Sesko has found the net five times in the Premier League since Carrick took charge, with four of those goals coming after he was introduced from the bench. While the 22-year-old has found it difficult to lead the line from kickoff, his physical presence, ability to hold the ball up, and sharp acceleration have made him highly effective late in matches.

The former RB Leipzig forward is already viewed as an improvement on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, but there is still a feeling that he must continue developing before becoming United’s undisputed first-choice striker rather than simply a dangerous impact player.

Because of that, Manchester United are still believed to be in the market for another centre-forward.

Recent reports from The Athletic claimed the club could target an experienced striker this summer. United have often turned to veteran attackers in the past, bringing in names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Cristiano Ronaldo, Odion Ighalo and Wout Weghorst.

Aside from Ibrahimovic, many of those short-term moves failed to fully solve the team’s long-standing attacking issues. Even the Swede’s successful spell only lasted a limited period before then-manager Jose Mourinho had to seek fresh options.

Instead of repeating that strategy, the club’s hierarchy may now look toward a younger player with huge long-term upside.

One name strongly linked is Endrick. Reports suggest there is growing belief that the Real Madrid youngster could become available this summer.

Madrid beat several elite European clubs, including United, to sign Endrick from Palmeiras in a deal reportedly worth €70 million including bonuses when he was only 16 years old in 2022.

The Brazilian talent officially moved to Spain in 2024, but competition for minutes became intense, especially with Kylian Mbappe leading the attack. That situation eventually led to a loan switch to Lyon.

The 19-year-old has impressed in France, contributing directly to 14 goals in just 18 appearances. Even with that form, questions remain over whether he would receive regular opportunities if he returns to Madrid next season.

Reports also claim United were among the clubs most interested before his move to Lyon, but a deal collapsed because Madrid did not want to include a purchase option in any temporary transfer.

If circumstances change this summer, United could reportedly renew their pursuit.

Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has previously said he would rather identify the next Mbappe than spend massive money on already established superstars.

Endrick may already be well known, but the teenager still represents a player with enormous potential who needs a major club willing to fully trust and develop him. Even Rodrygo once described him as “incredible,” highlighting just how highly rated he remains.
