Former Chelsea Manager Graham Potter has rejected offer from Huge European Club as odds slashed on him becoming next Premier League manager
According to Sky Sports News, Potter has turned down the opportunity to become Ajax’s next manager.
Potter was the Dutch giants’ main target after conversations with the club, but the former Chelsea and Brighton manager is understood to have decided against the move. Advert The 48-year-old has been out of job since his dismissal by Chelsea in April 2023.
In December, Sky Sports reported that Potter was expected to be on Ineos’ shortlist of management options if Erik ten Hag was fired. According to Bet365, Potter is the 3/1 favourite to take over at United.
England manager Gareth Southgate is at 4/1, while Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi, Sporting manager Ruben Amorim, and Brentford’s Thomas Frank are all at 8/1.
Advert Dan Ashworth, who is expected to become United’s sporting director, previously hired Potter at Brighton, where the Englishman received praise for his style of play.
Potter’s Seagulls finished in the top half of the Premier League during his third and last season in Sussex. However, speaking ahead of the weekend’s 2-2 draw with rivals Liverpool, Ten Hag stated that he intends to be at United next season.
