ALEJANDRO BALDE HAS BEEN LEFT OUT OF BARCELONA’S SQUAD… AND THE TRANSFER DRAMA IS GETTING SERIOUS

Alejandro Balde’s future at Barcelona has suddenly become a major talking point after the Spanish left-back was surprisingly left out of the squad for the club’s La Liga opener against Elche, despite there being no indication that he was injured.
The decision immediately reignited speculation surrounding a possible move away from Camp Nou, with Manchester United once again emerging as one of the clubs monitoring his situation. ESPN reports that United have made enquiries about the 22-year-old as they continue searching for another option at left-back before the transfer window shuts.
However, there is still a significant disagreement over how any potential deal would be structured. United are reportedly interested in taking Balde on loan with an option to buy, while Barcelona would prefer to secure a permanent transfer. With his reported valuation believed to be somewhere between €30 million and €40 million, that difference could prove crucial in determining whether negotiations progress.
Balde’s omission, however, should not automatically be interpreted as evidence that a transfer is already close. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick addressed the situation and explained that the player had a lot on his mind and needed some time to think. Flick also made it clear that he had not instructed Balde to leave the club.
That explanation has added another layer of uncertainty to the situation. While his absence has naturally intensified the transfer rumours, there is currently no confirmation that a move to Manchester United is imminent or already agreed.
Nevertheless, the circumstances surrounding Balde are enough to keep the story alive. United are genuinely keeping tabs on him, Barcelona are reportedly willing to consider offers, and the player’s future appears far from settled.
For Manchester United, the appeal is obvious. They are looking for greater depth on the left side of their defence, while Balde’s explosive pace, attacking instincts and ability to operate high up the pitch make him an attractive candidate.
Barcelona, meanwhile, have other options to consider. João Cancelo can provide cover on the left, while youngster Xavi Espart also impressed during the opening game of the season. If the Catalan giants eventually decide that Balde can leave, United could find themselves presented with a significant opportunity.
With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, the situation could develop quickly. What initially looked like a routine squad-selection decision has now become another major transfer storyline involving Barcelona and Manchester United.
United are watching, Barcelona are assessing their options, and Balde’s future remains uncertain. For now, though, there is no reason to claim that a deal has been completed or that his omission guarantees an imminent transfer.
The Balde saga is heating up, and the next major development could arrive at any moment.
