Manchester United are lining up a significant move in the transfer market, with plans to submit a £34 million offer in an attempt to outmaneuver rivals Manchester City and FC Barcelona for highly rated Palmeiras teenager Eduardo Conceicao.
At just 16, Conceicao is already being talked about as one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from Palmeiras in recent years, following in the footsteps of rising stars like Endrick and Estevao Willian. Known for his ability to glide past defenders, he primarily operates as an attacking midfielder but is also comfortable drifting out wide on the left.
While both City and Barcelona are believed to be further along in negotiations, United have now stepped firmly into the race and are ready to formalize their interest with a substantial fixed offer, leaving performance-related add-ons to be discussed later.
The situation could also be influenced by developments surrounding Allan, with SSC Napoli already seeing a £30 million bid rejected. Palmeiras may delay any major decisions if Allan remains at the club, but a departure could accelerate talks involving their young talents.
Although Conceicao is yet to feature at senior level, Palmeiras are expected to ease him into first-team football gradually. Even so, his performances at youth level have already turned heads. Representing Brazil national under-17 football team at the South American U-17 Championship, he played a key role in helping his side secure third place behind Argentina national under-17 football team and Colombia national under-17 football team.
Across just four appearances in the tournament, he delivered two goals and two assists, consistently standing out with his dribbling, physical duels, and defensive contributions. His all-round displays highlighted a player already operating above his age group, catching the attention of Europe’s elite.
United see him as a long-term investment with the potential to eventually step into a creative role similar to that of Bruno Fernandes. However, any immediate move will have to wait, as regulations prevent him from joining a European club until he turns 18 in December 2027, meaning a transfer would realistically be completed in early 2028.
Despite the delay, the race to secure his signature is already intensifying, with United eager to reach an early agreement and stay ahead of their competition.
