Juan Mata has dropped a bold prediction ahead of Manchester United F.C. vs Brentford F.C.

Former Juan Mata has stirred conversation ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League meeting with Brentford after predicting his old side could struggle at Old Trafford.

Speaking during an interview in Australia while with Melbourne Victory, the Spaniard admitted both teams have performed well this season but believes Brentford could leave Manchester with a positive result. His comments quickly spread online, with supporters divided over whether he was being brutally honest or backing against the club where he became a fan favourite.

Mata spent more than eight years at United, winning the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League before later playing for Galatasaray, Vissel Kobe and Western Sydney Wanderers. He remains close to the club and still supports players such as Bruno Fernandes.

He praised manager Ruben Amorim for improving the squad but warned Brentford’s organisation, counterattacks and set-piece quality could cause problems. United are expected to rely on Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Højlund in a match important to their hopes of finishing strongly this season.

Now attention turns to the pitch, where United will try to prove their former playmaker wrong.
