Chelsea F.C. are plotting a SHOCK move for Kobbie Mainoo this summer

Kobbie Mainoo, 20, was a prominent figure under Erik ten Hag but struggled to find his footing under Ruben Amorim, failing to make a single Premier League start this season and logging only 380 minutes of action across all competitions. His limited playing time has also put his place in England’s World Cup squad in jeopardy.

Despite strong interest from Chelsea and Napoli, Mainoo was blocked from leaving on loan last summer, and a January exit seemed likely given his continued absence from Amorim’s plans. However, following Amorim’s dismissal on 5 January, the United academy product has decided against pushing for a move before the February 2nd deadline, according to CaughtOffside.

Chelsea had been considered frontrunners to sign the midfielder as part of their search for a central midfield addition, but Mainoo now appears set to stay at Old Trafford and play a significant role for the rest of the 2025-26 season under caretaker manager Michael Carrick.
