🚨 Rio Ferdinand Sounds Alarm Over Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo Pursuit
Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to act decisively in their pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, warning that the ongoing delay could end in serious embarrassment.
United’s transfer activity this summer has been sluggish. Though they recently wrapped up a £62.5 million deal for Matheus Cunha, further progress has stalled — especially when it comes to securing Mbeumo, who has been on their radar for weeks.

Ferdinand also expressed concern about the lack of alternative targets, stressing that Mbeumo’s skill set is ideal: physically strong, dynamic, Premier League-proven, and tactically adaptable.
Last season, the 24-year-old attacker registered 9 goals and 6 assists, helping Brentford remain competitive even during Ivan Toney’s long absence. His pace, movement, and ability to cut in from the right flank make him a perfect fit for Rúben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.
If United can land Mbeumo, he could potentially form a dynamic front three alongside Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee. But time is running out, and failure to seal the deal could leave Amorim short-handed going into the season.
This saga could also impact other players. Amad Diallo, who impressed last season, may be pushed into a less favorable right wing-back role if Mbeumo arrives, limiting his attacking influence. Meanwhile, promising youngsters like Shea Lacey and Bendito Mantato lack the experience to be trusted in such a demanding campaign.
