Eden Hazard, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid forward, has announced his retirement from sport at the age of 32.
Eden Hazard, who won the Premier League twice with Chelsea, announced his retirement from football on Tuesday via social media. “You must listen to yourself and stay stop at the right time,” he wrote.

Hazard won two Premier League titles at Chelsea before joining Real Madrid in 2019.
However, due to injuries, the Belgian only made 76 appearances for Real Madrid in four seasons before leaving in the summer.
“You must listen to yourself and stay stopped at the right time,” he remarked on Instagram.
“After 16 years and over 700 matches, I have decided to call it quits as a professional footballer.”
“I was able to realise my dream, and I’ve had a lot of fun playing on many pitches all over the world.”
“During my career, I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches and team-mates – thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.”
Hazard, who was awarded PFA Player of the Year in 2015, went on to say, “I also want to thank the clubs I’ve played for: LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, as well as the RBFA for my Belgian selection.”
“A special thank you to my family, friends, advisors, and everyone who has been there for me in good and bad times.”
“Finally, I want to thank you, my fans, for sticking with me all these years and for your support wherever I’ve played.
“Now is the time to spend with my loved ones and try new things.” My friends, I’ll see you off the pitch soon.”
During his time at Stamford Bridge, he won two Premier League crowns, two Europa Leagues, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.
Hazard signed a club-record £130 million contract with Real Madrid in July 2019.
Hazard signed a five-year contract extension through 2024, but his tenure at the Bernabeu was marred by injuries and poor form.
He scored seven goals in 76 appearances for Real Madrid, ten of which came in all competitions during the 2022/23 season.
Two LaLiga titles, one Champions League, and one Copa Del Rey are among the trophies won by the club.
