CARRICK HANDED A MASSIVE INJURY NIGHTMARE JUST 24 HOURS BEFORE CRUCIAL COMO CLASH AS DEFENSIVE CRISIS DEEPENS

Manchester United have been handed another worrying setback just 24 hours before their crucial UEFA Champions League encounter against Como in Italy, with seven first-team players reportedly absent from training.
Michael Carrick now faces a difficult selection dilemma as he prepares his team for a match they desperately need to win. Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martínez, Marcus Rashford, Ayden Heaven, Benjamin Šeško and Patrick Dorgu were all missing from the session, raising serious questions about their availability.
The defensive situation is particularly concerning. Martínez was substituted at half-time during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United after experiencing thigh discomfort, while Shaw has also struggled with fitness problems. Heaven missed the Leeds match through illness, and Leny Yoro is suspended following his red card against Atlético Madrid.
Mainoo’s continued absence could also leave United short of creativity and control in midfield. Meanwhile, Rashford and Šeško’s situations create further uncertainty over Carrick’s attacking options, with Dorgu also dealing with a hamstring problem.
However, there is some encouragement, as Matthijs de Ligt has returned to training following back surgery, although he is yet to feature since his comeback. Young defenders Dan Armer and Jaydan Kamason have also trained with the senior squad.
Following the defeat to Atlético Madrid and the disappointing Leeds draw, United desperately need a response.
Can Carrick overcome these injury concerns and lead United to victory against Como?
