Manchester United have reportedly intensified their pursuit of one of European football’s most exciting young forwards, with Club Brugge star Nicolo Tresoldi emerging as a serious transfer target

Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Germany Under-21 striker Nicolo Tresoldi as they continue looking for more attacking options before the transfer window shuts. However, the Red Devils could face strong competition, with Chelsea also reportedly interested in the highly-rated forward.

Tresoldi has seen his reputation grow significantly over the past year, attracting interest from clubs across Europe with his finishing ability, clever movement and impressive maturity for a young player. His performances have convinced Club Brugge that they should demand a substantial fee for his services.

That position was reportedly demonstrated when Roma made a €35 million offer for Tresoldi, only for Club Brugge to turn it down. The decision suggests the Belgian side believe the striker’s value could increase further and have little reason to sell unless a major proposal is placed on the table.

Manchester United’s interest comes as Michael Carrick continues to look for ways to improve his attacking options. Concerns about consistency in front of goal have encouraged the club to explore long-term solutions, particularly in the centre-forward position. Tresoldi’s age, potential and playing style make him an appealing target as United continue building around emerging talents.

His potential arrival could also depend on what happens with Joshua Zirkzee. If the Dutch striker leaves Old Trafford before the transfer window closes, United could step up their pursuit of Tresoldi and make a more serious attempt to bring him to Manchester.

Chelsea’s interest could make that process considerably more difficult. The Blues have consistently targeted promising young players from across Europe, and Tresoldi appears to fit the profile of the type of talent they want to develop. If Club Brugge eventually become open to negotiations, competition between the two Premier League giants could quickly intensify.

Tresoldi’s appeal goes beyond his goalscoring. The forward offers physical strength, technical ability, intelligent movement and an aggressive pressing style, while also showing composure when presented with important chances. Those qualities have led scouts to believe he could eventually adapt well to the demands of English football.

For United, signing Tresoldi would represent another investment in potential rather than simply bringing in an established name. Although he does not yet have the profile of a global superstar, his development has convinced many observers that he could have a very high ceiling.

There is currently no agreement in place, and Club Brugge are reportedly determined to retain their prized forward unless an offer significant enough to change their position arrives. With Manchester United increasing their interest, Chelsea also monitoring the situation and other European clubs keeping tabs on him, Tresoldi could become one of the names to watch closely as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.
