BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United Receive Major Boost As Neco Williams Favors Old Trafford Move

Manchester United have reportedly received encouraging news in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams, with fresh reports suggesting the Wales international is keen on a move to Old Trafford. The opportunity to work under Michael Carrick and represent one of England’s biggest clubs is believed to be a major factor behind his interest in joining the Red Devils.

Despite attracting attention from other Premier League sides, including Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, Williams is reportedly prioritizing a switch to Manchester United. Reports indicate that Old Trafford is currently his preferred destination if he leaves Nottingham Forest this summer.

Williams has impressed during his time at Forest with his pace, work rate, and versatility across the back line. Although primarily a right-back, he has also delivered strong performances on the left, making him an attractive option for Manchester United as they continue searching for reliable defensive reinforcements.

Nottingham Forest, however, are not prepared to let the defender leave easily. The club are reportedly working on a new long-term contract that includes improved terms in an effort to convince him to stay. Even so, Williams’ reported desire to compete at the highest level could make it difficult for Forest to secure his long-term future.

Manchester United are said to be weighing up their next move before submitting an official offer. After reportedly strengthening the squad with the signing of Andrey Santos, the club is now focused on reinforcing other positions, with Williams emerging as one of the leading defensive targets.

Any deal could also benefit Liverpool financially. When Forest signed Williams in 2022, Liverpool reportedly included a 15 percent sell-on clause in the agreement, meaning the Merseyside club would receive a share of any future transfer fee if Manchester United complete the signing.

With Williams tied to Nottingham Forest until 2029, the club remains in a strong position during negotiations and is expected to demand a substantial fee before considering any sale. As the transfer window progresses, attention will be on whether Manchester United can strike an agreement and add another important signing to Michael Carrick’s squad.
