Liverpool coach Arne Slot says Man United will become unplayable if they sign the £122million creative player they have agreed to sign
Arne Slot has suggested that Manchester United could become an even more daunting opponent if they complete a deal for a player they are currently lining up.
The club is preparing to strengthen its midfield options when the summer transfer window opens, especially with Casemiro set to leave once his contract expires on June 30. United are already exploring high-profile replacements, with Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest and Carlos Baleba of Brighton & Hove Albion among the key names being considered.
In addition to a marquee signing, the club could also bring in another midfielder as part of a broader rebuild. Manuel Ugarte has not quite delivered at the expected level and may be moved on.
One player firmly on United’s radar is Noah Sadiki, who has been impressing at Sunderland. The Red Devils have been tracking him alongside Chelsea, but their likely qualification for the Champions League has given them a clear advantage in the race.
Sadiki joined Sunderland from Union Saint-Gilloise for around $15 million last summer and has quickly established himself as a standout performer. Operating in midfield alongside Granit Xhaka, he has consistently delivered strong defensive numbers, averaging two tackles and three recoveries per league match while also winning multiple duels. His relentless energy and pressing ability have further underlined his value.
At just 21, the midfielder has adapted seamlessly to the Premier League after arriving from Belgium and is already being tipped for a step up at the end of the season. According to Sacha Tavolieri, United are currently in a stronger position than Chelsea due to their superior league standing and near-certain Champions League qualification.
United sit comfortably ahead of Chelsea in the table, while the London side are also trailing Liverpool in the battle for a top-four finish. With European football at the highest level all but secured, United could soon formalise their interest in Sadiki.
However, Sunderland are unlikely to let their prized asset leave cheaply. Any club hoping to sign the young midfielder may need to table an offer in the region of £45–50 million to even begin negotiations.
