Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will make a late decision on whether Cole Palmer, Reece James and Malo Gusto will be available to face Arsenal.
The trio missed Saturday’s commanding 5-1 FA Cup third-round victory over Charlton as a precautionary measure, after picking up minor knocks in the previous week’s clash with Fulham, according to Rosenior.
In Monday’s press conference, Rosenior confirmed he would assess the fitness of Palmer, James and Gusto on Tuesday before deciding whether they can feature in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against the Gunners at Stamford Bridge.
“The positive news is that we came through the Charlton game without any fresh injury problems,” Rosenior said.
“I’ll make a final call on Cole, Reece and Malo tomorrow. They’re being carefully managed at the moment.
“The FA Cup tie gave them a perfect chance to rest and recover. When you’re confident you can win without certain players, there’s simply no point taking unnecessary risks.”
