Man United has made a “surprise” bid to recruit the winner of the Euro 2024 competition, surpassing Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Chelsea in the process. His arrival is expected to add a new dimension to United’s attack and bring a fresh wave of excitement to Old Trafford. 🫢😳🙀

RB Leipzig’s 26-year-old midfielder Dani Olmo shone brightly in the recent European Championship, featuring in six out of seven matches as Spain clinched their record fourth title under Luis de la Fuente.

Olmo’s performances have attracted the attention of several European heavyweights. Clubs like Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on securing his services this summer.

Manchester United has also expressed strong interest in Olmo. According to Spanish publication AS, the Red Devils have made significant moves to lure him to Old Trafford.

United aims to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s squad further this summer, adding French defender Leny Yoro and Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee to their ranks. Barcelona, however, could be a major competitor for Olmo, though they seem more focused on acquiring his Spanish teammate Nico Williams, who scored in the Euro 2024 final against England.

Olmo has a release clause set at €60 million (£52 million), which can only be activated before July 20.

Since joining RB Leipzig from Dinamo Zagreb in 2020, Olmo has made 148 appearances and played a crucial role in securing two domestic trophies for the German club.

Addressing the transfer rumors during Euro 2024, Olmo emphasized that any potential suitors must meet his release clause to secure his services. “My people know what I want to do… I have too much to do with the Euros to be thinking about other things,” he stated before the final in Berlin. “I have a contract with Leipzig and we have a very good relationship. There will be no problem. My €60 million clause until July 20? You know what you have to do. If not, you’ll have to fight a little later.”

Earlier this week, Manchester United confirmed the signing of Lille defender Yoro, following Zirkzee as their first summer acquisition. Yoro expressed his excitement about joining United, saying, “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honor. Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project and showed a lot of care for me and my family. I know about the history of young players at Manchester United and feel it can be the perfect place to reach my potential and achieve my ambitions, together with my new teammates. I cannot wait to get started.”
