Viktor Gyokeres has expressed a clear preference for living in Lisbon over London, despite growing speculation about a possible summer move to Arsenal or Manchester United. His explosive form has naturally drawn the attention of Premier League heavyweights, with both Arsenal and United eyeing him as a potential signing. However, Arsenal have now reportedly edged ahead in the race, with their Champions League qualification and upward momentum seen as major draws. Celebrating with fans while donning a Sporting scarf and jersey after the club clinched the title, Chris expressed joy over the team’s success and hinted at stability in Viktor’s future. He explained that the decision for him to remain at Sporting was made over dinner with the family, reinforcing the idea that the striker might not be moving after all.
Yet, Gyokeres has since played down those comments, explaining that no final decision has been made about where he’ll play next season. While acknowledging his family’s love for Portugal, the weather, and the vibrant atmosphere, he stopped short of committing to any club, keeping his options open as the transfer window approaches.
