Man Utd star Diogo Dalot produces ‘miss of the season’ against West Ham Manchester United are in action against West Ham United.

Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot may have already claimed the season’s biggest miss during their clash against West Ham United.

On Sunday afternoon, Erik ten Hag’s squad arrived at London Stadium aiming to secure back-to-back Premier League wins. United dominated the opening exchanges, putting West Ham under intense pressure as they searched for an early breakthrough.

The pivotal moment came at the 31-minute mark when Dalot found himself behind West Ham’s defense, collecting the ball ahead of goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski. With the goal wide open, Dalot had a golden chance to score but sent his shot high and wide, squandering the opportunity to give United the lead.

Fans on social media were quick to react. One labeled it “Dalot with the miss of the season,” while another expressed disbelief, asking, “How did Dalot not score from that? Has to be the miss of the season.” Others were even more critical, with one saying, “Diogo Dalot, shame on you for fooling people into thinking you’re a top player.”

One fan admitted, “Don’t even get me started on Dalot’s miss. Awful.” Another commented, “First Garnacho hits the post, and now Dalot misses an open net. Can’t believe it; I’m shocked.” A third chimed in, “Dalot really missed an open goal against West Ham.”

Michael Brown, a former player for Manchester City and Tottenham, shared his thoughts on BBC Radio 5 Live, saying, “Dalot made all the right moves—he got behind the defense, avoided the offside trap, and chipped it over Fabianski. West Ham’s defenders were racing back, but Dalot opted for power and missed the target.

“It’s been a strong opening half for United. West Ham has shown glimpses, but United is largely in control. They’ve created several chances, with impressive passing and quick counterattacks, and they’ve struck the post twice. The home crowd is starting to feel the pressure.”
