Chelsea are considering signing Ademola Lookman as Enzo Maresca seeks to enhance his team’s attacking options this summer. Lookman, 26, had an impressive season at Atalanta, highlighted by a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen in May. He ended the season with 17 goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances, catching the eye of several European clubs.

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea is among the interested parties and is ready to offer close to the €60 million (£51 million) asking price. This comes despite Lookman having joined Atalanta for just €15 million (£12.7 million) less than two years ago.

Lookman’s career has included a loan at RB Leipzig before joining them permanently in July, followed by loan spells at Fulham and Leicester. At Leicester, he impressed with eight goals and five assists in 42 appearances, eventually choosing to join Atalanta permanently.

If Chelsea succeeds in signing Lookman, they would gain a player with considerable Premier League experience. Known for his speed and direct play, Lookman typically operates on the left wing and has a talent for scoring and creating goals. His arrival would bring much-needed pace and effectiveness to Chelsea’s attack.
