Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been appointed as the manager of this shocking Premier League Club after being sacked by Roma
Jose Mourinho will return to England this weekend as a pundit for TNT Sports’ coverage of the Champions League final.
The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager has been out of full-time football since January, when he was fired by Serie A club AS Roma. Despite taking the team to the UEFA Conference League in the 2021/22 season, the Portuguese’s relationship with the club deteriorated, and the decision was taken at the start of the year to split ways.
Mourinho has since been active in Saudi Arabia, where many teams are believed to be interested in his services. The 61-year-old has shown an interest in one day working in the Middle East.
Mourinho has not ruled out a return to the Premier League, however. According to our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News, the seasoned manager would “walk to Manchester” if it meant taking over Manchester United again.
Chelsea were also connected with bringing Mourinho back for a third tenure, although both scenarios appear improbable. However, the two-time Champions League winner has announced that he would provide expert insight for English viewers this weekend at Wembley Stadium.
Mourinho’s previous team Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening. Los Blancos begin the game as heavy favourites to win their 15th Champions League.
