“The whole WORLD will hear his name. Just like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. He is my a top young star and he will be able to replace Luke Shaw for a long time”- Erik ten Hag makes strong Harry Amass statement after he was included into Manchester United squad against Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag has added 17-year-old left-back Harry Amass to Manchester United’s roster for their upcoming showdown against Liverpool this Sunday.

The Red Devils are preparing to take on Liverpool at Old Trafford once again, hoping to repeat their thrilling triumph in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Despite their recent stumble against Brentford and Chelsea, dampening their Champions League aspirations, injuries to key defenders have left Harry Maguire and Willy Kambwala as the sole fit central defenders for the impending Liverpool clash.

Nevertheless, this presents a golden opportunity for Harry Amass, who receives his maiden call-up to Ten Hag’s senior squad. Since his arrival from Watford last summer, Amass has left a mark with stellar performances for the Under-18s and impressive displays with the U21s, culminating in him securing his first professional contract with the club.

Ten Hag stressed that Amass’s inclusion isn’t just symbolic; it underscores the youngster’s readiness to contribute if needed. He also underscored the significance of nurturing talents like Amass and Habeeb Ogunneye, hinting at their potential role in shaping the club’s future.

Amass has enjoyed a fruitful season, featuring in 19 games across different competitions and chipping in with one goal and three assists. While this marks his debut inclusion in a first-team squad for United, he previously tasted the bench experience during Watford’s third-round tie against Reading in January last year, indicating his early promise and potential.
