Chelsea’s super defender and defender are both injured and will not be participating in the France team.
Axel Disasi, a center back for Chelsea, has been injured and will not play for France in their October friendlies against Scotland and the Netherlands in their European Championship qualifying match.
The former Monaco player was selected as a last-minute replacement for Didier Deschamps after players including William Saliba, Jules Kounde, and Dayot Upamecano were forced to withdraw from the France national team due to injuries.
Disasi, who appeared to have a knock at first, played the entire 90 minutes as Chelsea defeated Burnley 4-1 on Saturday. The nature of the ailment is unknown, but reports indicate a quadriceps issue.
With Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile among those out injured this season, the 25-year-old has become one of Chelsea’s primary center backs with Thiago Silva.
However, Chelsea supporters will be hoping that the severity of the issue is not severe so that he can play when the Blues meet Arsenal following the international break.
