Rafael Leao has distanced himself from speculation about a summer move to Chelsea, stressing that he sees his future with AC Milan and is dedicated to his current contract.
The 24-year-old winger, widely regarded as one of the world’s most exciting attacking talents, has four goals and seven assists for the Rossoneri in Serie A this season.
Leao, who is in his fifth year at the San Siro after joining from Lille in 2019, has settled in well, and his performances in Italy have piqued the interest of some of Europe’s top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Chelsea.
However, Leao is under contract with Milan until 2028, and rumours last month stated the Portugal international had a whopping €175 million (£150 million) release clause, which would have to be paid in full by potential suitors to force a transfer.
However, it appears like Leao’s departure from Milan is out of the question for the time being, despite the seven-time European champions trailing bitter rivals Inter Milan by 13 points in Italy’s top flight.
‘This is my home. I enjoy everything. Leao told Italian daily Il Corriere della Sera that it’s similar to Portugal in terms of shopping, fashion, and weather.
