The Supercomputer that predicted Argentina to win the World Cup in 2022 has finally predicted where Manchester City will finish this Season
Despite being five points behind Liverpool in the fight for the title, Manchester City is expected to win the Premier League for a record-tying fourth consecutive season.
The Blues are attempting to timing their run to perfection, and they have entered a purple patch of form just in time. With their winning streak stretching back to early December, City has surpassed both Arsenal and Aston Villa in the Premier League.
After playing Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup this past weekend, City will have a favourable stretch of games leading up to their Champions League comeback in mid-February and their matchup with Chelsea. The Blues will win the Premier League by a margin of three points, predicts OLBG’s study.
Despite still needing to go to Anfield and face Mikel Arteta’s team at the Etihad, they are astonishingly predicted to lose no more games before the Premier League season ends. The supercomputer has Jurgen Klopp’s team finishing second, and Arsenal finishing third, seven points behind City.
Aston Villa is predicted to finish with the final Champions League position, eight points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place. However, City will have its sights set firmly on winning the English championship.
Last month, Pep Guardiola was careful not to get ahead of himself while discussing the title fight. “So tight – we’re not top of the league, Liverpool are better,” he said to reporters.
“We’ve suffered setbacks and injuries, but we’ve also won significant titles and are performing at a very high level. Now go to bed; we’re all tired. Since November and December are more intensive than January, we become ready for what comes ahead.”
