CHELSEA returned Fofana from his loan at Union Berlin earlier this week after he failed to make an impression at the Bundesliga club, and despite a formal approach from Sevilla, The Blues wanted him to continue in the Premier League.

And it was because of this that Burnley made contact with Chelsea and made an offer that Chelsea was impressed with, and because Chelsea felt that staying in the Premier League was better for the 21-year-old’s development, a deal was completed.

Pochettino has spoken about Fofana’s loan move to Burnley ahead of an official announcement: “The club is dealing with this situation and we will announce when things happen.”

“I cannot say [if it is Burnley] at the moment, it’s rumours.”

Fofana is a talented young striker who did not need to transfer to Chelsea and is now being loaned out all over the place. But Burnley have a goal-scoring threat on their hands.

CHELSEA HOLDS VLAHOVIC CONVERSATIONS –

Chelsea are allegedly in contact with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic about a possible trade.

Now that the transfer season is open, Mauricio Pochettino has the opportunity to dip back into the transfer fund and try to buy a striker who can score on a weekly basis.

CHELSEA appear to be lacking the 25-goal season forward needed to reclaim the Premier League championship and play Champions League games on a yearly basis.

This has resulted in continual media speculation linking the Blues with a transfer for Vlahovic, who just joined Juventus two summers ago but has been linked with a move away as he has unable to score the goals they wanted him to.

In the previous 48 hours, journalist Simon Phillips provided an update on Chelsea and a new striker, stating on his Substack, as related by The Chelsea Chronicle, that the club has had Stamford Bridge negotiations by exploring the prospect of a move for Vlahovic internally.

The Blues have been keeping an eye on Vlahovic throughout the season and he still appears to be on their radar ahead of a potential deal.

Vlahovic, who is only 23 years old, already has plenty of senior experience for club and country and is valued at €60 million by Transfermarkt.

Despite all of the media conjecture tying him to a move to the Premier League, the Serbian does not appear to want to leave Juve anytime soon, and has even hinted at signing a new contract with the club.

“I’m very happy to be at Juventus,” he told Gazzetta.

“I have two and a half years left on my contract at Juventus.”

“We’re in no rush but director Giuntoli and my agent are already talking” .

Vlahovic is a very good forward who would score goals in that Blues side – but many CHELSEA fans would prefer the board to make a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney – he appears to be the forward who fans believe could help bring titles and Champions League football back to the club.
