Arsenal has received an update on when Manchester City may face penalty for their 115 FFP accusations. Man City were to be charged for several financial violations spanning the previous decade in 2023, with the matter becoming a topical topic once again in November after Everton were punished for their own financial mistakes.

The Toffees were punished ten points for violating the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) by losing more over £105 million over a three-year rolling period. Everton’s punishment for a single offence unsurprisingly heightened discussion of Manchester City and Chelsea.

The Blues are being investigated for alleged transfer-related payments, and while no charges have been filed against them, Chelsea has been punished in the past. In the case of Manchester City, a massive probe is expected, with an actual outcome doubtful for several years.

Despite this, a new FFP timeline has arisen, as two Premier League clubs, including Everton, are now at risk of being fined. According to The Times, teams will find out in the next two weeks if they will face sanctions for new financial rules violations, with Everton and Nottingham Forest keeping a close eye on the situation.

The Midlands-based club spent heavily during their promotion season from the Championship, however the amounts invested were offset by the income boost of reaching the Premier League. Being in England’s top division, on the other hand, led in wage increases and more money spent on marquee moves.

Chelsea and Manchester City, on the other hand, are highly unlikely to face any sanction because to the significant differences in each scenario. Each Man City charge must be thoroughly investigated, whereas the probe against Chelsea’s financial issues is still underway.
