After the #LIVARS Showdown yesterday…Liverpool player Virgil Van Dijk is to be Punished by PGMOL for making a Gesture and questioning the Referee “Have you been drinking?’

If Virgil van Dijk is going to get in trouble, he seems to ask the judge, “Have you been drinking?”
It looked like Virgil van Dijk was surprised by how referee Chris Kavanagh handled the important match between title rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, which ended in a tense draw.
Virgil van Dijk seemed to ask judge Chris Kavanagh if he had been drinking during Liverpool’s tough draw with Arsenal. The Liverpool captain’s question came during a closely fought game. Liverpool came back from being down a goal to win, but they weren’t able to secure all three points. Video footage posted online shows Van Dijk acting like he is holding a glass while asking Kavanagh about his sobriety. If Kavanagh had heard what Van Dijk said and if what he said was true, he might not have had to deal with the consequences.
But Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, said he didn’t understand how the choice was made. He thought that his team should have been given a penalty because they are only one point behind Arsenal in first place in the table.
Klopp said it again: “The penalty situation is strange. I don’t know if the ref can see it, but you look at it and I don’t see how you can say it’s not a penalty.” Liverpool great Jamie Carragher agreed with Klopp and said that Odegaard was lucky not to get a penalty call.
Instead, commentator Gary Neville said he agreed with the choice to throw out the penalty claims. He said that Odegaard’s slip might have had something to do with the non-call because it made his arm move unintentionally as a way to get his balance back.
