There has been a change for Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Jeremy Doku. They will play Fluminense in the FIFA Club World Cup final on Friday night.

Since this change was made, none of the three would get a medal if Manchester City beat Fluminense.

Well, Pep Guardiola put all three of them in Manchester City’s first 23-man group, even though they are all still recovering from injuries.

That meant Haaland, De Bruyne, and the £55.5 million Doku could get a medal if they stayed in the 23-person group and helped Manchester City win.

For the final against Fluminense, Guardiola has since changed the trio to Micah Hamilton, Max Alleyne, and Mahamadou Susoho. You can see his new 23-man team for that game on a FIFA document.

There are only 23 players on the team who can get a medal, which means Haaland, Doku, and De Bruyne will not be getting one.

Since those who missed the semi-final match cannot play in the final, the team that beat Urawa Red Diamonds had to stay the same for the final.

According to FIFA, only 23 medals will be given to the players. However, coaches have asked for more in the past to honour everyone who contributed.

In 2022, Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp asked the Football Association (FA) for more awards after beating Chelsea in the FA Cup. The Daily Mail reported on this.

For now, we don’t know if FIFA will let more medals be sent out like the FA did, but Manchester City should

be able to get more.
