“He need to go on loan hebis not playing the kind of Chelsea Football Style” Chelsea manager Pochettino insists Chelsea man “can become a very great player” as he finally breaks through at loan club

David Datro Fofana, a Chelsea youth, “can become a very great player” after breaking through at FC Union Berlin.

This is according to coach Nenad Bjelica, who has assisted the striker in making his mark following a difficult season in Germany thus far.

Fofana joined Berlin on loan in the summer in pursuit of regular playing time and development away from Chelsea, where it was felt that he had no future there.

However, the move has been a catastrophe because he fell foul with the former manager and was unable to make the squad under him or his replacement, Bjelica.
His performances when given an opportunity were also insufficient, with him going 25 shots on goal without scoring and establishing himself as the Bundesliga’s’most ineffective shooter’ until Wednesday evening.
After coming off the bench, he finally scored his first league goal, scoring the second in a 2-0 win over Cologne.

The hope is that this will be the ‘breakthrough’ he’s been seeking for, and Bjelica feels the Chelsea man can do so if one condition is met.

“We know he has talent and quality, but he must still work hard.” “If he understands that, he has the potential to become a very good player,” he added of the loanee.

Bjelica would, of course, be referring to the troubles that have plagued Fofana this season, with BILD stating that his struggles have been due to ‘disciplinary reasons’ and the fact that Fofana is reported to have ‘not always taken punctuality so seriously’.

Those are bad tendencies he must overcome if he is to thrive, with this objective maybe serving as a springboard for something better in the future.
