“I have a lot of things to say and I have to say it out. I can’t hide it anymore. Am a new player in the senior team here and I don’t care if they terminate my Contract just like dey did to cancelo”-Rico Lewis speaks out After Scoring his first premier League Goal In a post-match interview

Rico Lewis scored his first Premier League goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday, but he says he couldn’t fully enjoy the moment because Manchester City tied Crystal Palace 2-2.

City had most of the ball and looked like they were going to win easily with a 2-0 lead after Jack Grealish scored in the first half and Rico Lewis scored nine minutes into the second. But Palace scored again through Jean-Philippe Mateta in the 76th minute. Then, Michael Olise tied the game with a penalty kick in the fifth minute of extra time after Phil Foden caught Mateta in the box.

As a result, Lewis told City’s official website, “We are very disappointed with the result; it’s unfortunate with the performance we put in.” He said: “It’s football and stuff can happen that you don’t expect, and that’s what happened.”

“It was a good feeling in the moment,” he said about his goal. But it was kind of lost when the game moved on to the next part, and now I can’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. He ended by saying: “It’s a positive in a negative, at the end of the day we wanted the result and we’ve not got it.”

It’s the fifth time in six Premier League games that Manchester City has lost without winning.

Their next game is Tuesday against Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan in the Club World Cup semi-final. Lewis stated: “It’s another challenge, another game for us to react and show how good we are and that’s the good thing about football, there’s always another game.” He also said, “We need to show and prove to everyone, and more importantly to ourselves, that we can get the results we deserve.”
