‘I tried everything I could to persuade him to join Man City, but it appears His mind is made up already’: Erling Haaland confirmed His £60 million International Teammate has turned down the Man City offer to join CHELSEA in January
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is currently competing with up to ten other teams to sign a potential attacker.
He told CaughtOffside that winger Antonio Nusa is coveted by a number of elite clubs, including the Blues, who have had an interest in him for some time.
Chelsea made an attempt to sign Nusa last summer, maintaining their tendency of bringing in the next generation of best players before their rivals.
However, in a first for the Blues, it has been alleged that the Norwegian international turned down a move to Stamford Bridge late in the previous transfer window.
The player himself stated that he was promised a large sum of money to relocate to England, but that this was not a driving factor for him at the time.
It remains to be seen whether that holds true for the Club Brugge player in the upcoming transfer windows, when the possibility of a large move becomes more apparent.
However, Romano has stated that they would not be alone in their pursuit of the adolescent.
“There are about ten top clubs following Antonio Nusa around Europe, not just Chelsea,” he claimed. He’s one of the most gifted wingers in the league, so it’s understandable, but I’m told it’s not something that will happen soon or in January, but rather in the next months or so.”
However, the player’s abilities speak for themselves, with him experiencing a rapid ascent to stardom this season.
He has been labelled as ‘fearless,’ implying that he is not scared to make an impact whether he plays for his club or for his country alongside Erling Haaland.
