Liverpool Jürgen Klopp have confirmed they want to complete the signing of Manchester City FlOP who have not started any game this season in January

Liverpool have reportedly become the latest team to express an interest in signing Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.

According to a recent report from 90min, the Reds have joined a long line of clubs eager to offer the English midfielder a way out of his Etihad nightmare.

Phillips, 27, has battled for game time despite joining City just 18 months ago, starting only four Premier League games under Pep Guardiola.

And, ahead of next summer’s European Championship, the midfielder admits he needs more minutes if he is to stay in Gareth Southgate’s plans.

As a result, a mid-season move from the Etihad is very much on the cards for Phillips, and while Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are considered frontrunners to recruit him as cover for the suspended Sandro Tonali, other clubs, notably Liverpool, remain interested.

Liverpool have’recently made queries’ about signing the 27-year-old, according to reports.

Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United have all made approaches in addition to Newcastle and Liverpool.

Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in handing the midfielder a way out of England if he wants to take on a new challenge in Europe.
