Premier League Club has been Relegated from Top 4 of the premier League table this evening After breaching Financial Play Rules and the will be Banned if found more charges
Everton was punished first, and now he faces yet another severe penalty! 😆. In light of Everton’s punishment, Man City and Chelsea risk relegation from the Premier League.
Everton was dealt a 10-point deduction on Friday, and Man City and Chelsea are now concerned about their Premier League prospects due to the precedent that was created.
Due to their violation of financial fair play regulations, the Merseyside club received the harshest penalty ever meted out to a Premier League team. As a result, the Toffees now sit 19th in the standings with just four points.
Although Everton plans to appeal the ruling, Chelsea and Manchester City will be concerned about the outcome for their current financial probes.
The league winners are accused of breaking 115 financial regulations, and Chelsea may come under investigation for payments made to previous owner Roman Abramovich.
Following the Everton ruling, attorney Stefan Borson—who has counselled City—tweeted: “It seems harsh to me to give Everton ten points for a simple FFP [Financial Fair Play] violation without seeing the verdict.
“But confirms that relegation-inducing sanctions against City [if proven] and now Chelsea [if charged and admitted on the off-books payments] may occur.”
Everton’s punishment appears to be fairly severe, and it appears that the Premier League used the Toffees as an example in order to establish a precedent. Given that their offences are far more serious and that, as Borson points out, it may result in the two English powerhouses being demoted, this will worry both Chelsea and Man City.
