“If Manchester City allow him to join us on in January for £43, we will use him to help us stop Bayern Leverkusen from winning the league”- Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is seriously begging Pep Guardiola to allow him sign Manchester City brilliant star by January as he plans to use the player’s quality to play in the Champions League next season

Bayern Munich is reportedly hesitant to meet Manchester City’s price for Kalvin Phillips in the upcoming January transfer window. Phillips was previously linked with Bayern during the summer transfer window but ultimately remained at the Etihad Stadium.

New reports indicate that City might consider moving the midfielder in the January transfer window. However, the current situation and how the two clubs view the potential transfer have been revealed.

City is allegedly seeking over €50 million (£43 million) for Phillips if they decide to sell him in January. Bayern, on the other hand, is unwilling to meet that price.

Phillips was signed by City during the 2022 summer transfer window from Leeds United in a £45 million deal. In his debut season at the Etihad Stadium, Phillips started in only four of the 21 games he played in across all competitions.

This season, the 27-year-old has featured in just six games, including one start, leading him to express his desire for more playing time during the previous international break. He suggested that he might seek a move away from the club in January to secure his place in England’s Euro 2024 squad.

If Pep Guardiola is unlikely to provide Phillips with the playing time he desires, it might be in the best interest of all parties to sell the midfielder in January. However, they may need to reconsider their asking price to facilitate a deal.

City’s asking price for Phillips appears to be higher than what Bayern Munich is willing to pay. Although City spent £45 million to acquire him, his limited playing time and his expressed desire for more opportunities may prompt City to consider a lower transfer fee in the interest of facilitating a move for the player.

Bayern Munich’s reluctance to meet City’s asking price could impact the potential transfer, and it remains to be seen whether a deal can be worked out between the two clubs in the upcoming transfer window.
