Former Chelsea FLOP manager Graham Potter is about to become the manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world
Graham Potter is being considered for the role of Sweden’s national team manager, creating further intrigue around his future in football management. This development comes shortly after Potter’s name was linked to potentially replacing Erik ten Hag as the manager of Manchester United.
The 48-year-old Englishman has been out of a job since his stint at Chelsea ended in April. Potter’s tenure at Chelsea saw mixed results, with 12 wins in 31 matches, culminating in his dismissal following a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa.
Recent reports suggested that Potter might be in the running for the Manchester United managerial role if INEOS’s Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the club’s ownership decided to make a change. Ratcliffe is poised to purchase a 25 percent minority stake in the club, and he is expected to implement various changes to the club’s support staff at Old Trafford.
Potter’s managerial acumen is held in high regard by Dave Brailsford, INEOS’s chief, and the possibility of Potter leading the club was being seriously considered. There had also been prior links between Potter and Nice, another club owned by Ratcliffe, and reports of interest from Napoli for the manager’s services.

Potter’s connection to the Swedish football landscape is his seven-and-a-half-year tenure at Ostersund, where he played a pivotal role in their ascent from the fourth tier to the Europa League. Swedish FA general secretary Andrea Mllerberg confirmed that Potter is indeed a candidate for the position.
